Inspector General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare has cautioned the public against being used for electoral misconduct as the December elections draw near. He emphasized that anyone involved in such activities will face the full consequences of the law.
In his address during the commissioning of a new police station at Akyem-Manso in the Eastern Region, the IGP highlighted that the police have put measures in place to identify and address any early signs of electoral violence or misconduct.
“Do not allow yourself to be used to create chaos during the elections,” he warned. “Those who might try to exploit you will abandon you when the law catches up with you.”
Dr. Akuffo Dampare urged citizens to exercise their voting rights peacefully, respecting the rights of others, and assured the public that the police are committed to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
