President Nana Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his unwavering trust in Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a reliable and honest leader who has never deceived him.
Speaking in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo endorsed Dr. Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, as the best candidate to lead Ghana forward. He urged voters to choose Bawumia over former President John Dramani Mahama, whom he criticized as a failed leader seeking a return to power.
“Dr. Bawumia has never lied to me,” the President declared. “I trust him wholeheartedly, and Ghanaians should also trust him to deliver. His dedication to my vision and Ghana’s development is unquestionable, and I am confident he will continue to build on our progress.”
The President emphasized Bawumia’s readiness for leadership, citing his integrity, governance expertise, and commitment to national development. He noted that the Vice President has demonstrated an impressive track record during their years of collaboration and is well-positioned to continue the government’s efforts and achieve greater success.
This endorsement is part of a series of public commendations by President Akufo-Addo for his Vice President. During a visit to Wa in the Upper West Region in October, the President praised Dr. Bawumia’s loyalty, competence, and nearly two decades of dedicated public service.
President Akufo-Addo concluded by urging Ghanaians to recognise Dr. Bawumia’s leadership potential and vote for him in the 2024 general elections. He described Bawumia as a visionary leader with a deep understanding of Ghana’s challenges and the capability to deliver solutions.
With the 2024 elections approaching, this strong endorsement adds momentum to Dr. Bawumia’s campaign as he seeks to succeed President Akufo-Addo and lead Ghana into a new era of development.
