Former President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for the 2024 elections, has assured that the party will take all necessary steps to protect the integrity of the upcoming General Elections. Mahama expressed confidence in the NDC’s readiness to win the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections on December 7, and called on polling agents to stay vigilant. He also encouraged voters to return to polling stations after voting to observe the vote-counting process.
Speaking at the Kajogyi Yam Festival in Yeji, Bono East Region, Mahama urged citizens to act as additional polling observers and to take photos of the results as announced by the Electoral Commission at each station. This, he said, would enhance transparency and accountability.
Pimampim Yaw Kabrese V, Paramount Chief of the Yeji Traditional Area, also emphasized the importance of peace throughout the electoral process. He appealed to political parties to avoid any actions that could lead to violence and disrupt national peace. He further advised political figures to refrain from using inflammatory language and to support free, fair, and credible elections.
