Ghanaian reggae artist Jahbeloved has united fellow musicians to promote peace through an all-star collaboration titled ‘Stand For Peace’, in light of the upcoming 2024 elections in Ghana.
This powerful song features contributions from 14 prominent Reggae and Dancehall artists, including 7 Fireside, Kente, Knii Lante, Osagyefo, XLNC Fiifi Selah, Ruki, and Alaptawan. Jahbeloved emphasizes that the song serves as a crucial message advocating for peace, patriotism, and fairness as the nation approaches its election.
In a media interview, Jahbeloved explained his motivation for creating the track, stating that it was both necessary and timely to gather these influential artists to share their messages through the medium they know best—music. He urged political parties and leaders to prioritize Ghana’s welfare, ensuring peace and fairness before, during, and after the elections.
Addressing Ghanaian youth, he said, “As we go to vote, let’s do everything to put Ghana first. Defend your motherland; don’t let greedy individuals exploit you for their selfish interests.”
Jahbeloved clarified that the song is not meant to endorse any specific political party nor promote passivity but rather to encourage all participants in the election process to conduct themselves peacefully. He expressed hope that the track will resonate not only for Election 2024 but for all future elections as well.
‘Stand For Peace’ was produced by Kormantse Muziki, known for their successful Riddim Project, Where Di Money Riddim, which featured 30 Ghanaian artists. The song’s instrumentation was crafted by Fantiman Joujou, with live drumming by Frank Nana Yaw Godswill and live bass by Felix Tettey Amankwah.
The music video was created through collaboration among the artists, each contributing their footage, which was skillfully combined in the studios of Imperial Media Concepts in Texas, USA. The final video was edited by Kwizz Konseptz.
