The government is set to commission over 80 educational projects across all 16 regions of Ghana on Thursday, November 21, as part of efforts to improve access to quality education and provide modern facilities for students nationwide.
A statement from the Ministry of Education announced that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will lead the national commissioning exercise. The events will take place simultaneously at district and regional levels, with Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum participating in the ceremonies. The proceedings will be broadcast live on major TV networks and social media platforms to ensure nationwide access.

Key Features of the Initiative
The projects span basic schools, senior high schools, and technical institutions, emphasizing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and early childhood education. Notable projects include:
- Kpasenkpe Model STEM SHS in West Mamprusi District
- Accra STEM Academy in La-Nkwantanang-Madina
- Awaso Model STEM SHS in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai
- 12-unit classroom blocks at Salem D/A Basic in Atwima Mponua
- Two-unit kindergarten blocks in communities like Fremasi DA Primary in Assin South
Regional Highlights
- Ashanti Region: The Bosomtwe Model STEM JHS will commission an 11-unit classroom block, while the Wesley Girls Demonstration School in Kumasi will receive a six-unit classroom block with additional facilities.
- Northern Region: Sagnarigu Tamale Business School will unveil an 18-unit classroom block to accommodate increasing enrollment.
- Volta Region: Kodzobi Ando Basic School in Adaklu will benefit from a six-unit classroom block with modern sanitation facilities.
Focus on TVET
The government is also prioritizing Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) to equip students with practical skills for the job market. Projects include:
- Anyinam TVET-Applied Technical and Fashion School
- Akomadan TVET-Applied Technical School
These projects aim to create opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in specialized fields.
Public Participation
The Ministry of Education has invited Ghanaians to witness the milestone event either in person at various commissioning sites or through live broadcasts.
