Dreams Impact Foundation Donates Over Gh₵50,000 in Aid to Ho Vulnerable Groups

The Dreams Impact Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has donated sanitary pads, baby clothes and other items worth over GH₵50,000 to support the Ho Municipality as part of its ongoing community support and philanthropic initiatives.

The items were distributed to Tanyigbe Senior High School, Ho Central Prisons, and the Ho Municipal Hospital.

At Tanyigbe Senior High School, the foundation provided sanitary pads to 350 female students and conducted an educational session on menstrual hygiene and cleanliness during menstruation.

Sethina Edem Sunu, President of the Dreams Impact Foundation, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society while presenting the items.

“We all know how women struggle with menstrual period and some cannot just afford the sanitary pads. Girls skip school because they are in their menses so we just want to support them with this so they can go to school as any normal person”.

The students expressed gratitude for the donation while highlighting challenges, including water shortages and a lack of sufficient resources for personal hygiene.

Elorm Afua (not her real name) shared some of her struggles with the team.

“this term when I was coming to school I went to a friend to borrow seven sanitary pads, so when your foundation came to donate to us I was very happy”.

The foundation also visited the Ho Central Prisons to extend their generosity by donating packs of food to 380 male prisoners and providing both sanitary pads and packed food to the 15 incarcerated female inmates at the prisons.

Alongside the donations, the team engaged with the inmates, motivating them to comply with correctional guidelines.

To round off the donation drive, the dreams impact foundation visited the Ho Municipal Hospital and donated baby clothes and cash to 20 new mothers and their babies. The donation follows the Foundation’s enquiry weeks ago from the Ho Municipal Hospital about some items needed to care for the patients.

Staff at the Ho Municipal Hospital on behalf of the women on admission expressed their gratitude to the Dreams Impact Foundation.
