The Electoral Commission (EC) has reiterated its commitment to delivering a smooth and transparent election process as Ghana prepares for the 2024 elections.
To bolster its operations and maintain public trust, the EC has enlisted over 200 professionals with expertise in mathematics, statistics, and other quantitative disciplines. These experts will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of election results.
Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, Deputy Chairperson of the EC, outlined these efforts during a media interview on Tuesday, November 5. He emphasized that the Commission is focused on both precision and transparency to sustain confidence in the election process.
The newly hired specialists will assist with data accuracy, vote tabulation, and statistical analysis—critical aspects of the election process that require careful handling to avoid discrepancies. Their work will support returning officers at the constituency level to ensure precise collation of results.
Dr. Asare assured the public that the Commission is proactive in its approach, having already recruited over 280,000 personnel to support the elections, including those dedicated to data collation.
“We are working hard to minimize errors and uphold the democratic integrity of the election,” he said.
