Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Murdering Girlfriend and Daughter

A Burkinabe national, Boigouna Aloys, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court in Accra for the murder of his German girlfriend, Claudia Weizmann, and her 13-year-old daughter at Kokrobite.

The 47-year-old was convicted on two counts of murder following a trial in which the prosecution, led by Yvonne Yaache-Adomako, presented testimonies from five witnesses. A seven-member jury found Aloys guilty.

Aloys was arrested on October 8, 2020, after secretly killing and burying his 53-year-old girlfriend and her daughter in a wooded area near their residence. The police became involved after neighbors reported the sudden disappearance of Aloys and the two victims.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Aloys had a dispute with his girlfriend, during which he struck her on the head with a hammer. He then strangled her daughter to prevent her from informing authorities and buried both bodies.

The police, after securing an exhumation order, conducted an autopsy, which confirmed the cause of death, leading to Aloys’s arrest and eventual conviction.
