The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that the 40th National Farmers’ Day celebration will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Accra at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, beginning at 4:00 p.m. This year, the event will forego regional ceremonies in favor of a single national celebration, although each region will nominate winners for ten award categories who will be honored in Accra. The Ministry has instructed Regional Coordinating Councils to cover travel, accommodation, and meal expenses for regional award winners, underscoring the event’s role in recognizing the essential contributions of Ghanaian farmers.

Regional Ministers, along with Regional Directors of Agriculture, are expected to attend and present awards to honorees from their regions. All expenses for regional officials will also be covered by the councils. The Agriculture Ministry emphasized the event’s importance in celebrating the dedication of Ghanaian farmers to national development, noting that the participation of regional representatives would bring special acknowledgment to their efforts.
This unified celebration, aligning all award presentations at the national level, reflects Ghana’s commitment to supporting agriculture and recognizing the resilience and contributions of its farmers across the country.
