Mahama Establishes 5-Member Team to Investigate Public Reports of Corruption

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has formed a five-member team to receive and gather public reports on suspected corruption cases as part of efforts to tackle the issue decisively.

A press statement issued on Wednesday, December 18, and signed by the Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team announced the establishment of the body, which aims to provide citizens a platform to report corruption-related incidents.

The statement emphasized President-elect Mahama’s commitment to combating corruption, promoting accountability, and ensuring the prudent management of public resources.

The team will be chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, and includes prominent figures such as former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.

With their diverse expertise, the team is expected to strengthen anti-corruption efforts and foster greater transparency.

According to the statement, the initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the Mahama administration to restore public trust and reinforce the capacity of institutions tasked with fighting corruption. The team’s work will complement existing structures while encouraging active public participation in holding leaders accountable.
