The Human Rights Court has dismissed a suit filed by Charles Bissue against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and the Kaneshie District Court, citing lack of merit. Bissue had sought to prevent the OSP from arresting him, claiming they had unlawfully obtained an arrest warrant.
The court, however, found no evidence to support Bissue’s claims. Justice Nana Brew stated that Bissue failed to prove that the Kaneshie District Court had issued any such warrant, calling the alleged warrant a “figment of his imagination.” The judge criticized Bissue for wasting the court’s time and awarded a GH₵10,000 cost against him in favor of the OSP.
This judgment came after Bissue’s lawyers had initially secured a 10-day injunction ex parte to halt the OSP’s supposed arrest efforts.
