The Electoral Commission of Ghana has disclosed a shortfall in the printing of ballot papers for both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections in specific constituencies within the Volta Region. According to a press release signed by Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman of Operations, the affected constituencies include Keta, Ketu North, Ho Central, Hohoe, and Ho West.
The Commission has engaged Acts Commercials to address the shortage by printing the required additional ballot papers. The process is set to commence on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the premises of Acts Commercials Printing House, Accra.
Political parties and independent presidential candidates are instructed to appoint two representatives each to observe the printing process. This measure is intended to maintain transparency and ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
The Electoral Commission assures the public of its commitment to a smooth electoral process and requests the cooperation of all stakeholders in resolving the issue promptly.
This development comes as Ghana prepares for its upcoming elections, and the Commission remains vigilant in addressing logistical challenges to uphold democratic standards.
