The nation’s greatest enemy is gone – Kumchacha says of Akufo-Addo

The Founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Prophet Nicholas Osei, widely known as Prophet Kumchacha, has openly criticized outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo, attributing the nation’s economic struggles to what he described as poor leadership.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Kumchacha expressed his discontent with the outgoing administration. He bluntly declared, “We all can attest to the bad governance that Nana Akufo-Addo brought to the nation. The whole world knows Nana Akufo-Addo was the worst president Ghana ever had.”

Prophet Kumchacha’s harsh words didn’t stop there. He claimed that Akufo-Addo’s leadership was damaging to Ghana, and he expressed relief at the end of his tenure. “Today marks his final days in office and the new beginning of good and better governance. That is why I’m here,” he said, signaling his support for the incoming leadership.

Describing the event as historic, Kumchacha emphasized the importance of the transition of power. He didn’t hold back in his criticism of the former president, even going so far as to label Akufo-Addo the nation’s “greatest enemy.” He remarked, “When we say go and look for the enemy and you meet Akufo-Addo, he’s the enemy.”

Kumchacha also pointed to the controversial $58 million National Cathedral project, which he described as now resembling a “swimming pool,” accusing Akufo-Addo of misallocating resources towards a project that he deemed unnecessary.

Despite his pointed criticism of the past administration, Prophet Kumchacha expressed optimism for the future of Ghana under the leadership of President John Mahama. He confidently predicted that the next four years would bring about a “massive transformation” for the country.
