The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has announced a nationwide strike set to begin on Thursday, November 7, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This decision comes after an initial notice issued on October 23, in which CLOGSAG expressed frustration over the government\u2019s prolonged delay in finalizing and implementing a new salary structure for its members, initially planned for January 1, 2025. CLOGSAG had set an October 31 deadline for the government to meet these demands, but no agreement was reached by that date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an official statement, CLOGSAG noted that despite several meetings with government officials, there has been no concrete proposal on the new salary structure. As a result, the Association declared it would cease all engagements with the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), accusing the Commission of acting in bad faith throughout the negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith the delay in finalizing the salary structure and other conditions of service, CLOGSAG members have no choice but to stay at home from November 7, 2024,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
