A 19-year-old woman from London fulfilled her dream of being a doctor without any formal medical training, by walking into a hospital and impersonating a physician. Kreuena Zdrafkova, originally from Bulgaria and living in West London\u2019s Ealing district, had long aspired to become a doctor. Earlier this year, she took matters into her own hands, deciding that a lack of medical education would not stop her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In April, she donned a white coat and gloves, entered Ealing Hospital, and began acting as a physician. Zdrafkova spent the day examining medical instruments, entering an ambulance, and even administering a substance to a patient, all without being questioned. Confident in her role, she returned to the hospital three days later, this time with a stethoscope around her neck, ready for another day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her charade came to an end during this second attempt, as she was apprehended and later sentenced to 12 months of probation and 15 days of rehabilitative activities. Zdrafkova was also banned from entering any NHS facility, except in cases of emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her lawyer portrayed her as a young immigrant who acted out of a deep desire to fulfill her dream rather than with any intent to harm. They described her interactions with a patient as compassionate, noting that Zdrafkova had been seen wiping the patient’s face with a tissue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During her day posing as \u2018Dr. Christina,\u2019 Zdrafkova treated a patient under police supervision. CCTV footage showed her administering an unknown substance to the patient, which thankfully did not have adverse effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
