The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) cites a GH\u20b5118 million debt owed by the government as the reason for the hold-up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WAEC\u2019s Public Relations Officer, John Kapi, disclosed that the council has exhausted its financial reserves, making it impossible to continue operations without the overdue payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/JOHN-WAEC.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve used every little resource we had to sustain operations. This time around, we have nothing to fall back on, and that&#8217;s why we\u2019re urging the government to settle this debt to enable us to complete our work,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Anxiety Among Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The delay has sparked widespread concern among students, particularly those relying on their results to meet university application deadlines. Many have voiced their frustration and fears of academic disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One student shared their worries in an interview with JoyNews, saying:<br>\u201cThis situation is making us anxious. Without our results, we can&#8217;t move forward academically. The government needs to act quickly to ensure the results are released.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another added:<br>\u201cIf the results are delayed until next year, it will create unnecessary pressure and confusion during the university placement process.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/STUDENTS-WAEC.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stakeholders Raise Concerns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Cynthia Kpeglo, Executive Secretary of Vice Chancellors\u2019 Ghana, warned of broader academic implications if the issue persists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDelays in the academic calendar disrupt teaching and learning, and restructuring programs to accommodate these changes will be a challenge. There are financial implications and knowledge gaps to consider. Whatever the cause of this challenge, it must be addressed immediately,\u201d she urged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/CYNTHIA-WAEC.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Calls for Urgent Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students, parents, and educational stakeholders are appealing to the government to urgently settle WAEC\u2019s debt to avoid further disruptions to the educational calendar.
