{"id":1246,"date":"2024-11-13T07:20:38","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T07:20:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/?p=1246"},"modified":"2024-11-13T07:20:40","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T07:20:40","slug":"yea-collaborates-with-fisheries-commission-and-military-to-provide-fish-farming-training-for-youth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/?p=1246","title":{"rendered":"YEA Collaborates with Fisheries Commission and Military to Provide Fish Farming Training for Youth"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has joined forces with the Fisheries Commission and Ghana\u2019s 66 Artillery Regiment to launch a youth training initiative aimed at promoting fish farming and aquaculture skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), seeks to equip young Ghanaians with vital skills in fish farming, supporting economic growth and job creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the signing ceremony, YEA CEO Kofi Baah Agyepong emphasized the agency\u2019s commitment to addressing unemployment through skill development and innovative solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis MoU reflects our joint effort to create jobs in a fast-growing market,\u201d Agyepong said. \u201cThe YEA\u2019s core mission is to generate employment, and we are achieving this across various sectors.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"657\" height=\"355\" src=\"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot-2024-11-13-191834.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot-2024-11-13-191834.png 657w, https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot-2024-11-13-191834-300x162.png 300w, https:\/\/winsmediagh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Screenshot-2024-11-13-191834-640x346.png 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 657px) 100vw, 657px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative will fund the training of 1,000 youth in its first phase, with each participant receiving a monthly stipend of GH\u00a2500 to cover living expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agyepong also noted that the YEA has already trained over 10,000 youth in technical fields such as plumbing, tiling, auto mechanics, and IT, with another 10,000 currently enrolled in similar programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis initiative is about building skills and entrepreneurship across Ghana,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fisheries Commission\u2019s representative linked the training program to its \u201cAquaculture for Food and Jobs\u201d initiative, which aims to increase fish production and generate employment for youth and women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur goal is to boost fish production and create jobs, and this collaboration with YEA is key to achieving that,\u201d the representative stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lt. Colonel Jalali Din Ibrahim of the 66 Artillery Regiment expressed the military\u2019s enthusiasm for the partnership, pledging their support to ensure the program\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are excited to partner on this project and will do everything we can to ensure it reaches its full potential,\u201d Lt. Col. Ibrahim remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This fish farming initiative is part of the YEA\u2019s broader strategy to combat youth unemployment by developing practical skills. Col. Ibrahim, Lt. (Gen) Kojo Edem Agezo, Sub Lt.
