His appeal comes on the heels of a recent interview where Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari expressed her desire to explore the horror genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I prefer to do horror and thriller films,&#8221; Nadia shared. &#8220;At N.S. B Studios, we like to challenge ourselves and want to create something new and engaging.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Osarfo, who hopes to see more African-produced horror films reach global audiences, responded positively to Nadia\u2019s remarks, saying, &#8220;I was thrilled to hear Nadia&#8217;s intention to venture into diverse genres. It\u2019s time for variety, and I\u2019m proud she&#8217;s ready to take on this challenge.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emphasizing the commercial success of horror films, Osarfo noted, &#8220;Data proves horror films consistently attract audiences and offer significant returns on investment. Sadly, we in Africa have largely missed out on this lucrative opportunity.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also highlighted the gap in African representation in global horror film rankings and studies. &#8220;When searching for the &#8217;10 best horror movies of all time,&#8217; no African titles appear. As I develop a course on horror cinema, it\u2019s disappointing that all the screenwriters, films, and industry references are non-African,&#8221; he shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite these obstacles, Osarfo remains hopeful for change. &#8220;I envision a future where Africa stands out in the horror film landscape.
